5 out of 5 stars It works for me   August 13, 2010
Ckc
Ergonomics: I think Kinzu is tailored for small/ medium handed users with a claw or finger tip grip. So basically my hand is 19 cm long and I use a fingertip grip. The balanced shape and light weight works for me as it give me a firm grip and faster reaction.

Performance: I had been using Razer Deathadder for about 4 years with the 1800 dpi setting. This 3200 cpi setting from Kinzu is just way too sensitive for me. Thus I tune it down to 1600 cpi. With this setting, there is no positive acceleration as stated by some users. I guess Kinzu probably works better with the high sensitivity setting. Using a razer megasoma with Kinzu, I don't notice any drag. Nothing good or bad in term of the gliding.

Function: No extra function. I don't mind that too much, but I know some users hated mouse without the side buttons.

I guess Kinzu works best for small/ medium handed users with a claw or finger tip grip who uses medium to high sensitivity settings.

I will update this review once I got my Func Archetype mouse pad to share some thoughts if the tracking and gliding works better on that surface.
Apology for my poor English if there is any mistake.

5 out of 5 stars What a relief! Great Mouse!   June 25, 2010

I've been looking for a good mouse for awhile -- and this mouse is way better than good! Been through three mice over the last couple of years (most recently a MS Optical Comfort Mouse 3000), and the difference has been striking. It's light, responsive, accurate and very comfortable. One recommendation: follow the instructions, which strongly recommend leaving the Windows Mouse sensitivity setting at its default value (XP - sixth notch from the left). BTW - I'm not a gamer, but I do a lot of programming and having a very responsive and accurate mouse means a world of difference after hours of cutting, pasting, clicking ...

4 out of 5 stars SteelSeries Kinzu Optical Mouse   June 5, 2010

Size-wise, I like it because it is small. I also like the fact that this mouse does not have any side-buttons which is very good for a palm-gripper like I am.

The only reason it is four-star mouse is because of its optical sensor. The sensor itself has fast response. However, the sensor seems having what we call "positive acceleration." If I move the mouse slowly, it has no problems. The pointer stops at where I wanted. However, if I move fast, the pointer ends a bit farther than where I wanted to. Other than ths so-called "positive acceleration," the mouse is a go-getter. Some people also complain about the firmware issue, but I have not experienced any error regarding firmware.

4 out of 5 stars Great for most people   March 14, 2010

This mouse is great. It tracks well, the feet are fantastic, glides smoothly, the scroll wheel feels tight (in a good way) and well-made, the cable is a really nice, high-quality braided design, and everything feels really balanced and sturdy. The reason why it's a 4-star is because it can be pretty small for people with large hands. I usually have a fingertip-style grip, and this gets kinda tiring with this mouse after a few hours. However, one of the things I like the most about the mouse is the finish on top of it. It's a nice, satin rubberized sorta matte finish. Feels very good, soft, comfy, and grippy, even with sweaty hands, regardless of grip. Seriously good mouse.
